A wonderful welcome back, Namaste to you all!

You may have noticed my website has been taking a little pause for a few months now as I have been making some changes ….. its been a long time coming! I have certainly missed you and my monthly blogging. Rest assured I will be putting some of my archived blogs back on my site in due course and I thank you all for your patience and lovely comments that you send me too, its so good to connect in this way. There are hundreds going back several years …….its going to be a winters evening job!!

As I write, there is another shift in the season to mid Autumn, natures way of reminding us to pay attention a little bit more. It seems obvious that we adjust our outer life to acclimate to the changing weather, but it can often be forgotten that the shift is necessary in our inner realms too. Aligning yourself with nature helps you to live in the path of least resistance. If you really focus and tune in to your body and mind and how you’re feeling, you will notice that inner calling to really let go, rest and rejuvenate. Now is a time for a deliberate, yet natural unwinding in anticipation of new beginnings at New Year and as you enjoy the support of nature on your side in all its colourful glory of autumnal colours, remind yourself too that yoga is a powerful way to bring harmony into your physical, into your inner body and into your mind. Poses to really calm, ground and nourish your energy through the continuing seasonal changes ready for winter can be included in your practice. Breathe your way to calm, enjoy warming foods and soups adding warm pungent spices. Nettle or ginger tea to keep your immune system in check. Using pure essential oils to stimulate, strengthen and assist the nervous system or ease muscle aches; bergamot, black pepper, cinnamon, clary sage, sandalwood, cardamon and cedarwood to name a few.

Autumn is a perfect invitation to sit in peace and reconnect as well as benefiting from your regular yoga practice. Allow yourself to quietly merge into the cooler, calmer periods of the year, enjoy some walks and feel the atmosphere on your face as you snuggle into your cosy sweaters, hats and boots. Enjoy sitting by a fire or woodburner with your favourite cup of tea or light a candle and be part of here..now..this moment, close your eyes, simply observe how you feel and breathe away ……… inhale all, exhale all………….

I am looking to host a retreat next Spring (all being well) so keep watching this space. I will post details in the New Year once more finalised.

You will see my little dog ‘George’ who features with me on the homepage of my new website…..I’m sure he will be along on the journey from time to time too!!

It’s good to be back up and running with my site again. I enjoyed teaching some of my classes via Zoom during the lockdowns throughout the year, it was a good way to stay connected. I continued with ‘yoga in the park’ by the beautiful loch Neaton, close to where I live, this spring/summer and will look to restart again next Spring or when the weather allows, again all being well. All my regular weekly classes are on their mats with me and my studio ‘The Yoga Loft’ will look to re open in the New Year if all is ok in our world. I would hope to set some dates for retreat, workshops & events in my garden seasonally. Let us enjoy the days and moments we are blessed to connect and feel very grateful that we can.

SO good to be chatting with each and everyone of you. Enjoy browsing, let me know what you think. I write to you from my heart and with love …… you are all gorgeous!

Photo was a walk, I particularly enjoyed very early on in Autumn!

With Love, Susan x x
