Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. Happiness is more than a state of mind; it’s a state of being, of feeling, of experiencing.
Whereas the mind can only think about happiness, it is the entirety of our being that actually experiences it: that kind of dizzying, blissful, lighter-than-air feeling when everything is going your way, and the world seems to smile back! This is where yoga comes in. Spending time on the mat helps to create that joyful experience (whatever your mind chooses that day) allowing your body to breathe and your spirits to soar. That post-yoga buzz you feel when leaving a yoga session is a happy fix many of us get addicted to. Yoga can boost your happiness levels……so make May the month of making happy!!
YOGA RETREAT 2014 – Potash Barns, Suffolk
Converted Grade ll listed barns, located in the hamlet of Brundish near Framlingham, amidst the quiet beauty of rural mid Suffolk. In addition to the 4 Star rated accommodation, is a wonderful yoga studio which overlooks the beautiful countryside of Brundish!
Come and join me for a weekend of ‘Bliss’ offering a slice of nirvana. Attain a healthy body and stress free mind to lead a happy life. Yoga will include Hatha, Vinyasa, Shamanic, Akhanda and the beautiful restorative Yin. A combination of body postures, revitalising and nourishing and to form the core element of the weekend – breathing techniques to cleanse with soothing meditations.
Joining me is the lovely Annie Clarke who trained earlier this year in Rishikesh, India, in the foothills of the Himalaya. She will invite you to create harmony between body, mind and spirit, enhancing a more balanced lifestyle of well-being and inner calm. Annie will create a sacred space for mindful inner enquiry embracing traditional and creative Akhanda yoga. Weaving her passion for Mantra, singing, poetry and music. Offering four sessions over the weekend of pranayama, meditation, mantra and relaxation through balanced sequence of postures.
Also joining me is Dawn Dean, MCThA, reflexologist and therapist with holistic treatments available all weekend during free time. Those will include: Full Body Massage with Aromatherapy Oils, Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage, Indian Head, Reflexology including Foot and Leg Massage. Appointments and prices available on request.
Accommodation is sharing in twin or double rooms. Wonderfully nutritious vegetarian catering, full board. Fruit juices, tea etc available when you would like. If you prefer a private room, there may be a couple nearby at Woodland Farm B & B (ask for details). The weekend begins 4pm Friday 12 September and finishes after lunch Sunday 14th. You can relax and stay in the barns until Monday morning (self catering at that point) to continue to enjoy the surroundings. Cost of the weekend which includes all yoga sessions, accommodation and food is £300 per person. Places are limited, book early to avoid disappointment. So, leave everything behind for a couple of days and head to ‘Bliss’ – all you need is your mat, blanket, block, strap if you have one and most importantly……. your smile!!
