My dear friends, Namaste
WOW, it’s been a fabulously busy time these past few weeks from early Spring right through to where we are now in early Summer. I have been away hosting my retreat on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast, UK with some wonderful people with whom I have had the pleasure to share some gorgeous yoga. We have come from repose to refresh and now we are thinking about summers fiery energy!
The season of early summer is short but sweet running from mid May to 20th June and this is the time in seasonal yoga where we focus on the connective tissue particularly surrounding the heart – the pericardium and the thick layers throughout the torso, known as the bandhas. Now in the fire element, we feel ready to stretch out and enjoy!
A few suggestions for supporting our bodies and minds through living mindful this season by way of opening up the chest and heart, staying connected with the body, having awareness of every part with a good stretch daily. Keep the body warm, release tension and let go, drink plenty of water, eat lots of green vegetables and citrus for reducing acid waste and get enough vitamins, A,C,E and Omega 3!
I would like to thank Bev, Dee, Gayle, Janet, Jean, Pauline and Val for making my Spring Retreat resonate on so many levels and to say to you that you all move me, motivate me and remind me that we are all connected and intrinsically share the same emotions. You echo what we all know in our hearts and souls to be true. I can’t really teach you anything you don’t already know – that when something rings true with you it is because it is already within you. My thank you’s to Chris and Amanda too with whom I couldn’t have managed without. Chris was front of house and he did a fantastic job before, during and after meals and Amanda made all the delicious vegetarian and wholesome food for our bellies! Thank you xx thank you xx
What’s happening next ……. I’m already thinking about a late Autumn Retreat, so watch this space! There are a few places left for my Yoga in the Garden morning on Saturday 23 June 10am – 1pm with homemade refreshments after, please be in contact for further details and to book by appointment only. Yoga Nidra (deep sleep) is every last Wednesday of the month in my studio The Yoga Loft, again by appointment only from 6pm to 7pm, in addition to regular classes and events that are ongoing.
