Time to dust away the cobwebs and ignite the stirrings of early Spring as we gradually begin to leave the darker evenings. The season of new beginnings will soon be upon us. We shift from the hibernation of the winter months to an awakening of rebirth. Spring invites us to open back up, delight in warmer days and cultivate a spirit of aliveness!
We should now be incorporating into our practice stimulating and invigorating poses to enable us to feel more uplifted and even improve our mood! Help to jump start your digestion and get your lymph moving with Sun Salutations, backbends, twists and forward folds which all ‘spring’ to mind.
Focus on your food and beverages to help open channels of elimination in the body. Try to avoid sweet, sour and salty foods. Favour warm and lightly cooked meals. Yoga first thing in the morning is perfect this time of year to excite your circulation and give your immunity a boost right at the beginning of the day – wonderful!!
